How Much Does AI Marketing Cost in 2026?

AI marketing for a local service business runs anywhere from about $100 a month for software you operate yourself, to $1,100–1,500 a month for the big bundled platforms, to $2,500–10,000+ at full-service agencies. Most of this industry won't tell you what anything costs until you're on a sales call. This guide does — including exactly what we charge.

What "AI marketing" actually includes

The phrase gets used two very different ways, and the price follows which one you're buying. AI as an adjective is a platform with an "optimization engine" — software that tunes ad bids and drafts posts while you (or an account rep) still do the work. AI as an employee is a system that does a job a person would otherwise do: answers the lead that comes in at 9pm inside 60 seconds, picks up the phone when you're on a roof, follows up seven times without being reminded, asks for the review after the job. The first makes your marketing somewhat better. The second changes what your business can answer.

Cost by route

RouteTypical monthlyThe trade
DIY software stack$100–400Cheapest by far — and you are the operator. The tools don't run themselves, and the first month you get busy is the month it all stops.
Bundled platform$1,100–1,500 (reported)One dashboard, one bill. Typically 6–12-month contracts — and on some platforms, the website they build you isn't yours if you leave. Most don't publish pricing; those figures come from third-party reviews, which tells you something by itself.
Traditional agency + AI tools$2,500–10,000+Full service. "AI" usually means their internal efficiency, not systems installed in your business.

Platform figures per third-party reviews (FlashCrafter, Capterra, GetApp, 2026); agency ranges per WebFX published market data.

The hidden costs nobody itemizes

Contracts you can't exit — year-one lock-ins are standard on the platforms; read the cancellation clause before the features list. Websites you don't own — if it's hosted on their platform, ask what happens when you leave, in writing. Metered minutes and per-text overages that turn a $300 plan into a $900 one. "Setup fees" that buy nothing — a fee is a cost; an install should be an asset you keep. And bundled ROI you can't attribute: when everything's one line item, you can't see what's working — which is exactly how underperforming services hide.

What GRIFFAIN charges

What GRIFFAIN charges

Two plans, nothing between — because the $1,500–3,000 middle is where owners pay agency prices for platform-grade service.

$397/mo · annual

Website, ongoing care, and basic lead response — final scope confirmed at signing.

$5,000 install + $3,500/mo

The Growth Engine: every system installed and run — 60-second lead response, the AI front desk, ads, local SEO, your site. Live in 30 days or the final install payment is waived. Annual prepay: 12 months for the price of 10.

Individual systems add to a plan from +$300/mo. You own everything — leave after the term and it all transfers within 30 days.

Compare it to a hire, not to software. A competent marketing hire runs $4,000–6,000 a month loaded, works 40 hours, and can't answer a lead at 2am. That's the honest comparison for the Growth Engine — and it's why the price is what it is.

The honest minimum

If $397 a month would strain the budget, the honest answer is: not yet. Fix the free things first — your Google Business Profile, your review ask, answering your phone — and come back when a plan pays for itself out of one saved job. The free guides and tools on this site are yours either way.

Questions owners actually ask

Is AI marketing worth it for a small business?

If you already get leads and lose some to slow response — yes, and quickly, because the first thing AI fixes is the leak you've already paid for. If you get no leads at all, fix findability first; AI can't answer a phone that never rings.

What happens to my website if I cancel?

With us: it's yours on full payment of the build fee, and everything transfers within 30 days of leaving. Ask any vendor this question before you sign — the answer sorts the industry fast.

How fast is it live?

The install clock is 72 hours from your intake form for the first system, and every Growth Engine system is live within 30 days — in writing, or the final install payment is waived.

Can I add just one system?

Systems ride a plan — from +$300/mo for the front desk, +$500/mo for full lead response or ads. A single system without a foundation under it is how tools end up unused.
